The energy assessment included a building-by-building evaluation of existing conditions encompassing all major equipment/system types. Cost-effective energy and water conservation measures were identified that reduce utility consumption, costs, and the greenhouse gas footprint. ECMs identified resulted in 267,494 MMBtu and $5,134,251 savings in energy usage and cost, respectively. This is a 16% reduction in energy usage and a 15% reduction in cost.

VISN 21 ASHRAE Level 1 Energy Assessments, Northern California

Davenergy conducted an energy assessment at seven VA Medical Centers in New York and New Jersey totaling 4,400,000+ million square feet. The energy assessment included a building-by-building evaluation of existing conditions encompassing all major equipment/system types. Cost-effective energy and water conservation measures were identified that reduce utility consumption, costs, and the greenhouse gas footprint. ECMs identified resulted in 263,225,170 MMBtu and $3,831,443 savings in energy usage and cost, respectively. This is a 30% reduction in energy usage and a 23% reduction in cost.

Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, CA, ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audits

Davenergy conducted ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audits and similarly scoped Water Audits. Eight buildings were selected for auditing, including a grocery mart, three office buildings and 4 aircraft hangars, totaling 700,101 square feet. The goal of the audit was to assist MCAS Miramar in achieving the EISA 2007 required 30% energy reductions by providing conservation measures with detailed descriptions, scopes and calculations that could then be executed using O&M, ECIP or other sources of funding. The audit was conducted in several phases, 1) a Preliminary Energy Use Analysis, 2) Site Visit and 3) Analysis and Reporting. Phase 1 consisted of a utility summary and analysis on the most recent 12 months of utility bills. This generated a baseline for the energy/water usage and utility costs, which was used in calculating potential energy savings. The calculated Heating and Cooling Degree Days provided insight to potential Energy/Water Conservation Measures. Annual utility cost was $131,676 for electricity and $87,409 for natural gas. When implemented, the ECM’s will save over $245,000 per year with a simple payback of 5.5 years; a 24% cost savings. The corresponding energy savings of 7,713 MMBtu/yr will result in a 26% reduction in energy intensity, greatly assisting the installation in meeting its base wide goal of a 30% reduction.

Mt. Morris Dam Energy Audits, NY

Davenergy conducted ASHRAE Level II building energy assessment and analysis for the United States Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Mount Morris Dam Facility in Mount Morris, NY. The Mount Morris site consists of five buildings and a flood control superstructure initially built in the 1950’s. The primary purpose of the dam is flood control, but the Mt Morris location also provides public access for education and outreach programs hosted in the visitor’s center. ECM’s identified will save over $5,500 per year with a simple payback of 2.3 years; a 17% cost savings. The corresponding energy savings of 175 MMBtu/yr will result in an 18% reduction in energy intensity.

Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, CA – Investment Grade Energy Audits

Davenergy conducted a detailed energy audit on 30 separate buildings with a total area of 2,821,069 square feet that included 21 warehouses, two barracks, three offices, child care center, gym, fire station, and communications center.  The goal of the audit was to assist in achieving the EISA 2007 required 30% energy reductions by providing conservation measures with detailed descriptions, scopes and calculations that could then be executed using O&M, ECIP or other sources of funding.  ECM’s identified will save over $86,000 per year with a simple payback of 13.2 years; an 18% cost savings. The corresponding energy savings of 3,318 MMBtu/yr will result in a 16% reduction in energy intensity, greatly assisting the installation in meeting its base-wide energy reduction goals
