Metering: USCG TRACEN Petaluma, CA

The National Energy Conservation Policy Act established deadlines of October 1st, 2012 and October 1st, 2016 for installing electric meters and steam/natural gas meters for Federal facilities, respectively. In light of this, advanced utility meters for electrical, water, and propane gas were installed for 127 residential units and 21 mission buildings at TRACEN Petaluma, CA. The scope of work included project management, engineering, labor, materials and equipment to design, install, test and place into service an advanced metering system. Following installation, web hosting services to access the meter data are provided for a year while the Coast Guard investigates a permanent enterprise IT solution for energy information management. The advanced metering system installed at TRACEN Petaluma included 5 AquiSuite data acquisition servers, 113 Modhopper wireless transceivers, and Entercept Network Power Transducers (Modbus RTU).

The TRACEN Petaluma Comprehensive Energy Services project included Energy Audits, Retro-commissioning, Building Envelope Testing, ASHRAE Compliance reviews, water and propane line leak detection, and the installation of 450 smart meters.
