Davenergy conducted ASHRAE Level 1 energy assessments on two major and several minor buildings encompassing 59,630 square feet at USDA – ARS Logan. The energy assessment included a building-by-building evaluation of existing conditions encompassing the air handling, lighting and other energy consuming equipment in the facility. Energy and water conservation measures were identified that reduce utility consumption, and costs of operating the subject USDA facility. ECMs identified resulted in a savings of $18,000 per year with a simple payback of 5.9 years; a 10% cost savings. The corresponding energy savings of 800 MMBtu/yr will result in an 8% reduction in energy intensity.
