Position Description:
We are seeking a full-time Construction Manager to join our dynamic and growing mechanical engineering consulting practice. The CM functions include participating in design management with the Project Manager (PM) and General Contractor; monitoring various on-going construction activities and schedule for conformance with contract requirements; overseeing civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, or architectural aspects of construction; supporting processing of easements, pertinent deeds, local code requirements, and restrictions; and supporting coordination of various phases of construction at a VA Medical Facility. This program involves both new construction projects and coordination with renovations of existing buildings. Some of the existing buildings are historic properties. The building types include office buildings, hospitals, clinics, laboratories, warehouses, and other types of real property. We are seeking a full-time EHRM Program Manager to join our dynamic and growing mechanical engineering consulting practice. Will provide innovative scheduling and phasing recommendations to optimize construction scheduling and costs. Will work independently and be expected to manage own time and schedule.

2. STATEMENT OF WORK:
1. Provide the following services for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), including, but not limited to;
i. Project Management

2. Detailed requirements include:
a. Project Management (PM):
The Project Manager shall have experience in Data Center and I.T. physical infrastructure projects. Scope of work shall include project management of all professional and technical services related to the construction delivery process.
The PM shall represent DavEnergy in a professional manner and provide sound management advice regarding work performed on EHRM projects. For each project, the goal shall be to achieve the best value in the work being performed by controlling schedule and budget. The PM shall also be proactive in helping to resolve problems and minimize claims taking all reasonable measures to anticipate problems and delays and to minimize or eliminate their adverse impact on project completion. The PM must take the initiative and act to mitigate circumstances that could lead to claims, resolve conflicts promptly, and keep the Government advised of any potential disputes.
The PM shall exercise all due diligence, utilizing competent personnel within authorized limitations, to make certain that work is performed in conformity with applicable requirements (codes, regulations, standards, construction contract plans and specifications). The PM shall continuously review schedules and adjust based on the progress of work and make specific recommendations for prioritizing and accelerating critical path items. The PM shall facilitate, manage and document all project meetings to keep stakeholders and integrated project team members informed. The PM shall manage construction and construction administration documents, correspondence, and as-builts.
The PM will not be held responsible for design defects and does not assume any of the contractual responsibilities or duties of the architect-engineers. T
b. Construction Services:
Provide construction period services that may include submittal reviews and management of the submittal process including maintenance of submittal logs. Review and monitor project schedules with an emphasis on milestone completion dates, phasing requirements, workflow, material deliveries, and test dates. Provide field verification of as-built drawings, creation and updates of as-built drawings. Perform inspections of construction as work proceeds, taking action to identify work to the COR that does not conform to the contract requirements, and notifying the COR when work is thought to require correction, and troubleshooting.
Compile, through site inspections, lists of defects and omissions related to the work performed and provide these lists to the COR for determination of the need for correction. Deliverables shall include observation reports, lists of defects and omissions, modification narratives, sketches, and drawings, as required.

Position Description:
We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic and growing mechanical engineering consulting practice’s design services group. We are looking for motivated candidates who can grow with this department. The selected applicant will conduct initial site investigations, lead design review meetings, perform HVAC, Plumbing, and other mechanical design discipline services on a variety of property types. Experience performing HVAC renovation / upgrade, controls retrofit, and critical environment pressure design is a requirement for applying to this position.
This position will require you to perform field inspections of government, commercial, industrial, and institutional properties. You will collect relevant information to help redesign HVAC systems and components, plumbing systems or perform whole building modeling with eQuest, Trane Trace or similar software. The ideal candidate will be adaptive to working with all property types, and knowledgeable with regard to a variety of HVAC, plumbing and other building systems.
The successful candidate may also be expected help perform commissioning activities such as construction document review, construction field installation verification, and equipment functional testing.
Experience Requirements:
An ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
An understanding of and experience with a variety of HVAC systems
A Professional Engineering License
Experience in redesigning of HVAC systems and components
Performance of building heating and cooling load calculations
Knowledge of psychometrics
Familiarity with ASHRAE standards
Familiarity with ICC Building, Mechanical and Green Energy Codes
Knowledge of the Whole Building Design Guide
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit
Experience performing whole building energy modeling a plus
Excellent report writing skills, computer and internet skills
Excellent communication and management skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to complete assignments on-time and within budget
Ability to travel on short notice (1 week or less)
Ability to utilize ladders, scaffolding and other vertical support systems as part of construction inspections
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and spend several hours standing at any time.
